We’ve done everything we can to prepare and there is nothing holding us back from beginning to serve aside from meeting our financial requirements, so we’re setting a goal for all of us!

In our past newsletters we shared with you the many things we have done to prepare to leave to North Carolina. Our Wycliffe supervisor asked us a couple of weeks ago “What is stopping you from going to North Carolina today?” The only response we had was “Our monthly giving goal.” We all realized, other than that, we could go tomorrow! So with the help of our Wycliffe supervisor and our prayer advisory team, we have decided on a goal for when we hope to have all of our financial partners in place: Our goal is to be fully funded by September 2012! At just over half way to the budget set by Wycliffe, we know that September will be a challenge to reach, but it is absolutely nothing to God. We believe with 100% certainty that this call to missions is from God and that it is His plan for us to be in North Carolina and serve Bible translation there. With everything He has done to get us to this point, our financial needs are no obstacle and we have complete faith that He will provide the monthly support necessary in His time.

We have decided to set a goal date in order that we might spur one another in faith, for us that God will bring financial partners, and to you that if God is calling you to support us that you would take that step of faith, even if money is tight, because God blesses those who put their faith in Him. We are all called to be a part of missions and we are all one team in it.

So this is a call to action for all of you! Please be praying about how God wants you to be involved with Bible translation and select how you can be a tool for God to work through to fulfill this goal.

    1. Pray – God works through prayer!
      • Join our Prayer Team – We send out prayer calendars and monthly prayer updates to our dedicated prayer partners so if you want to be a prayer partner, please let us know so that we can add you to our list.
      • Pray for this goal – We need prayer on a daily basis that God will move and bring us the partners that He has planned to get us to 100% of our monthly budget.
    2. Give –
      • Regular Support – Our
greatest financial need is people who are willing to pledge an on-going amount, whether it is monthly, quarterly, or annually. We are currently at 53% of our budget and need to reach 100% in order to start serving.
      • One-time gifts – We have reached the minimum amount of one-time donations required by Wycliffe for us to be released to our assignment. This is a huge praise! We still anticipate that the actual costs for our move and set-up will exceed this amount so we plan to save beyond their required amount.
    3. Advocate – The power of advocacy is huge! How can you advocate?
      • Introduce us to your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. If you have already pledged to us or aren’t feeling called at this time, you may know someone is called.
It is amazing to us to think that people who don’t even know us would want to join with us in our ministry but we have seen it happen and know that we need it to happen to meet our goal.
      • Connect us with your church. Your church may be willing to partner with us or give us an opportunity to share there where we can meet many more people.
      • Host a party – We would love to come to your home to share about Bible translation and our ministry to a group.
    4. Help – We need practical help as we go forward in our journey. Right now our need is childcare for Hunter when we meet with people regarding Wycliffe but we know that a lot more needs will arise as we face the logistics of preparing for a cross-country move so let us know if you would like to help when those type of practical needs arise.

God’s worldwide purpose is to gather joyful worshippers for Himself of every tribe and tongue and people and nation – John Piper

His Word to All

We hope that over the last 7 months, we have impressed upon you the need for all people to have the Bible in their heart language to learn about God for themselves. We feel this passion growing in our hearts daily so this is causing us to press forward with urgency toward our goal. We pray that you will too!

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. – 1 Peter 1:13
