O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. – Nehemiah 1:11

Our Ministry Progress
We have been reflecting a lot this week as it is the 1 year anniversary of our time at the Wycliffe campus in North Carolina for the Check-IT-Out conference. This was when Melanie was able to visit the campus for the first time and we met with our future supervisors to confirm our roles. We were so excited that week and it felt so strange to leave there and not know when we would be coming back. We hoped and prayed that we would be back by Check-IT-Out this year but it has proved not to be God’s timing. As we reflect, we are so humbled by all that has happened in the past year and know that none of it would have happened without prayer. We also know that we cannot complete our financial and prayer team without a lot more prayer.

We feel so strongly that prayer has to be central to our ministry and as our aunt told us as she gifted us a homemade fire starter for our next camping trip, “Prayer is the fire starter for your ministry.” We are studying Nehemiah at our church now and are
learning how when his heart was broken for the people of Israel, the first thing that he did was to pray. He praised the character of God, repented of his sins, remembered the promises of God, and asked for help to begin his work. What a wonderful example of how we should be praying for our ministry.

Please help us to start and keep our ministry burning strong. On the next page are two different ways that you can join with us and Wycliffe in prayer as well as specific ways to pray for missionaries.

We are happy to be able to share that we are continuing to make progress in our partnership development and are now at 63% of our monthly budget. We are so grateful to all of you who have pledged to give or helped to connect us with opportunities to share. We can not do this without you!

As God is calling you to give to our ministry, please know that the most important step right now is to make a pledge of the monthly, quarterly, or annual amount you will give. That pledge is what allows us to track our progress toward our goal and plan when we will be leaving. Thank you so much for communicating that with us.
