Hi all –
Hope you are getting into the Christmas spirit and are excited to celebrate the best gift ever given. It is fun for us to teach Hunter the reason behind many traditions, like putting up lights because Jesus is the light of the world and decorating evergreen trees because of the eternal life we can have in Christ. He understands a whole lot more of what is happening this year now that he is 4!
We have had a blessed week with us getting to attend a marriage conference through FamilyLife and Hunter therefore spending a few days with his grandparents. Check out Phillip’s blog post about it: http://theshipleys.org/2012/
Please continue to pray that God will bring prayer and financial partners to complete our team by January 1st and reveal His plan for our family and our ministry. We currently have pledges for 74% of our budget and so we need to receive pledges for 1% of our budget every day for the rest of this month to reach our goal, but we know that God can do it. We have some friends in Wycliffe who recently had 20% pledged in one week! So we have faith that God is moving to get workers out to Bible-less people.
If you are considering making an on-going pledge, we wanted to share a few things. First, no amount is too small. It all adds up to get us there and God has asked each person to give what they can, as we see in the story of the widow who gives her two copper coins in Mark 12. Second, it doesn’t need to be a monthly commitment. If once or twice a year you would be able to make a gift, that would be great. The key is an on-going commitment because we are planning to serve with Wycliffe indefinitely.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers!
