Thank you all so much for your generosity to our ministry. We have had 3 more families make pledges and we are now at 77% of our budget pledged! It is so exciting to see how close we are getting to being able to begin serving. Plus several more made one-time gifts. Thank you to each of you!

Last week we mentioned the story of the widow who gave two copper coins in Mark 12, and we want to be as faithful as her. We are going to serve Bible-less people in support roles here in the United States and it is easy to sometimes think “How will our efforts in creating programs and counseling with families really impact Bible translation around the world?” Yet we know that all we can do is be faithful to give ourselves and the talents that God has given us and He will use it mightily. Check out a new video on our blog to hear Phillip’s new director share about how the team is eagerly awaiting his arrival: http://theshipleys.org/2012/12/meet-my-director-steve.

We’ll be sharing more details in the upcoming weeks of what Phillip will be doing when we start working. Here is one quote from Doug Dillingham, the manager who is also filling Phillip’s role in Waxhaw until he arrives.
“It’s important to recognize the crucial role information technology (IT) and data management play in Bible translation. They are core elements supporting every facet of what we do. So the coordination of software development across GTIS (Global Technology Information Services) is a serious need. It’s encouraging to see how the God-given skills and talents that Phillip possesses, in concert with his unique industry experiences, are immediately transferable to Bible translation. We desire to use the resources God has given us in the absolute best and most efficient ways possible. That’s why we are so looking forward to Phillip providing the necessary leadership, coordination, and remote-team management needed across GTIS software development teams located in Waxhaw, Orlando, Dallas, and India, as well as independent consultants, volunteers, and contractors located around the globe.”

If you would like to be a part of our team and allow us to begin serving in January, please visit our website http://theshipleys.org/partner-with-us/ to learn about partnering with us prayerfully or financially. We have just two more weeks to meet our goal and see God do a miracle!
