Yavapai Point

On Friday we went to the Grand Canyon as we walked up to the first view point Hunter gets grumpy face and tells us “agh, its too big!”. We have no idea what he means by too big, but it was pretty funny.

It sure is an amazing place, and maybe I can agree about it being too big in the sense that I could never see it all, as much as I might want to.

For Melanie and I it was also fun to return after 15 years when we came here together on a youth group mission trip to an Indian reservation.

We’re leaving Arizona today on our way to Albuquerque, NM. It has been a fun visit with a few days in Flagstaff and a couple here in Sedona. We went to Sunset Crater (though it’s not a crater but a volcano), the Grand Canyon, a pioneer museum, and all over Sedona to see the rocks. I’m very grateful to have a healthy back to allow me to hike all over this red dirt to see some awesome sights. As far as I’m concerned Sedona is the prettiest city in the country.

A few other things Hunter has especially enjoyed are playing miniature golf at our resort in Flagstaff, swimming in the heated pool here in Sedona, and hiking the trails around here to see the red rocks. Another guest here asked him yesterday what he has been doing in Sedona and he said “mostly just looking at rocks”.

What a great update… and the top pic of the three of you at the GC is just perfect. It looks like a post card!
